SUMMARY

ISO is currently developing several standards that may directly impact internal audit programs, as well as the individuals conducting those audits.  These standards include –

  • ISO 19011 – Guidelines for auditing management systems
  • ISO 14066 – Competency requirements for greenhouse gas validators and verifiers
  • ISO 17021 Part 2 – Requirements for registration audits
  • ISO 31000 – Risk management – Principles and guidelines on implementation

This webinar will outline the development of these ISO standards, discuss their current status and outline the specific impacts they are likely to have on your internal audit program.

One of the controversial issues in the development of these audit standards has been, and continues to be, competency requirements for individual auditors.  This webinar will outline the issues underlying this controversy and discuss what the resolution of these issues may mean for both individual auditors and audit program managers.
